We have an important election coming up. The news media has slanted their commentary one way. FOR Barrak Obama and against Hillary Clinton. This, in my opinion, is wrong!
Credentials and experience are important to the nominees of the next Presidential election. If you like the credentials of John McCain, so be it. He is not being attacked as is Senator Clinton on the Democratic side. Admittedly, Senator Obama is an attractive young man who speaks with the conviction of a Baptist preacher,....but truth is he doesn't say much. He is full of cliches and metaphors but says very little. Mr. Obama does not have credentials or experience. He is a first term Senator who has voted "present" as much as he has voted "aye" or "nay." Is this the quality of a man that we want to try and lead us out of our present geo-political predicament .
I would say, NOT! I am a Democrat and with a heavy heart I say that if Obama is the Democratic nominee for president, my vote will go to John McCain.

The democrats have made a mockery of the political process by presenting two circus performers as the next Presidential candidates. Hilary - Broom Hilda- Clinton has little or nothing to say except for criticisms of Obama. Obama has very little to say, but says it very well. Together they have guaranteed what will no doubt be the single largest Republican win in the history of our country. Unfortunately, the comedian, Pat Paulson, who entered almost every Presidential race in the 70's and 80's, died a few years back, otherwise I would have to vote for him. As it is now, the only real choice for a professional politician to run the country is McCain.
I believe that we need a break from the Republican approach to running this country. When our current clown, oops, I mean president, took over, we were in pretty good financial shape. Today, Americans look like idiots, thanks mostly to a nearly illiterate Commander in Chief who isn't a bit interested in what the public wants. We are in terrible economic shape, the world hates us, and our education system is at an all time low.
No matter who wins this election, he or she will have only 4 years to begin to right the wrongs done by the Bush administration. Because of the mess they will inherit, there is little chance of turning the country around in 4 years and the public will demand a new president once again. We will then have to select someone else to continue trying to "clean up" what we are facing today.
"G-Dub" had lots of "experience" and look where that got us. I say give Obama a chance. Maybe the fact that he is not yet so jaded by experience will allow him to make decisions from a fresh and genuine perspective.
What do we have to lose?
Redqueen is 100% right about needing a change. But we need a change in both the administration, and in policy. We need politicians looking out for the American people at home. Looking into why it is that Americans pay three times the price for medications as they do in Canada, and how the richest country in the world (per capita) can have an aging population that can't afford to go to the doctor, because the insurance companies will not pay for the visits. Who ever is in the White House next will have to deal with the last 8 years of abuse. It can't be done in a decade, never mind a signle Presidential term. The question really becomes whether ANY of the Presidential hopefulls are up to the task? Time will tell.
JESS,...i couldn't agree with you more. Romney was a candidate that I could have felt good about,....but,.......
One day SOON we will have to organize a march on Washington. So it shouldn't be a total loss, we can go during Cherry blossom time.
